We are starting the back-to-school month with a bang! Hegemony: Lead your Class to Victory made a massive splash upon release and received multiple awards, because of how it simulates real-world politics and macroeconomics.
In this asymmetric, card-driven political-economic simulation, you control a completely different socio-economic class of a modern nation, each with its own unique components, actions, and paths to victory.
There are four roles you can play: the Working Class, whose goal is to find jobs for the workers, increase its population and secure high wages; the Capitalist Class whose objective is pure profit; the Middle Class, which balances between higher wages and lower taxes; and the State, that must maintain social stability and legitimacy.
While you have your own separate goals, all the players are limited by a series of policies that affect most of their actions, like Taxation, Labor Market, Foreign Trade, etc. Voting on those policies and using their influence to change them is also very important. Through careful planning, strategic actions and political maneuvering, you will do your best to increase the power of your class and carry out your agenda.
Hegemony: Lead your Class to Victory is played over a five rounds. Each one consists of multiple phases: the Action Phase, the Production Phase, the Elections Phase and the Scoring Phase. At the end of the 5th round, there is an additional Endgame step and end-game scoring is applied.
Will you take the side of the workers and fight for social reforms, or will you stand with the corporations and the free market?
