I know cards in both piles are hidden, but for some cards that use the discard pile, it is really important to know how many are there.
Potion of Ressurection for instance:
Sacrifice the Potion of Ressurection and look at the top five cards in the discard area. Add one to you hand and the others to the bottom of the discard pile.
Is there any card at the discard for me to use the potion?
How many?
After I discard the four cards not choosen to the bottom of the discard pile, how many cards will be on top of them? Can I get another one of those cards if I use another Potion of Ressurection?

Au démarrage de la partie, la pile de défausse est vide et le nombre de cartes de la pile de pioche se détermine d'après les extensions et cartes promo choisies pour la partie, auquel il faut retirer les cartes réparties entre le joueur.
Ensuite, il suffit de compter les cartes piochées et les cartes défaussées. Étant donné que les nombres de cartes des piles de pioche et de défausse peuvent être déterminées (avec effort) par les joueurs, il n'existe aucune raison de ne pas afficher ces nombres.

Yes, it would be really helpful and necessary to know how many cards there are in the draw and especially discard pile. Since there are different cards to which this information is very important.
Otherwise I would appreciate a warning before actually playing some cards; like:
"Do you really want to play this card while the discard pile is empty?" or "....while there are only X cards in the discard pile?"
Because playing this game in real life I easily could see how big the discard pile is. And because you really see it happen you are much more aware if someone is discarding cards and how many.

Even if we can't see the strict number of cards in the discard, we should at least be made aware that there is currently a discard pile.

I've played cards in the mid game assuming there would already be a discard pile, and they did nothing because there wasn't a discard pile.

This really does need to be added. When some cards manipulate the discard pile (especially like Potion of Resurrection) this information is critical.

This also gets my vote - I spent quite a bit of time looking for an indication if there was anything in the discard pile!

Definitely support this improvement. Knowing if there are discards is a distinct limitation of the online version that does not exist in the physical version.

Sepulchral Amulet is another card that expects the user to know how many cards are in the discard.

As Lethargic Socket points out, players should at least know IF there is at least one card in the discard pile. Very useful for turn-based games IMO.

What I would also like is an icon in the game log whenever a card is discarded. This would allow to quickly check where the discarded cards came from.
