It's linked to another problem.
Bga by default swap the order of player.
But from what I see actually each player start with a random faction.

That mean if you play two games of 2 players in a row, you have 50% chance to have twice the same faction in a row.

To resolve this small problem you can either:
- do this suggestion
- make the first player always have the easier (or harder) faction.

Solo does not use factions.

Mogri is incorrect. According to the rulebook, you can pick any faction for the solo game. Thus, the fact that the current solo implementation always chooses China is an omission of a key piece of functionality of the real board game, if not a bug.

Actually, *I* am incorrect! The solo game does indeed not use factions. I misinterpreted the setup rules in the rulebook. My apologies to Mogri.

In a 4-player game, there's no way to pick factions. The "prefer/avoid" settings don't do anything. This makes it difficult to teach new players, leading to a bad play experience.

On page 16 of the rulebook, it states "Between yourselves, decide who is going to play which World Power." so I would expect this in a complete implementation.

Yeah, the World Majority faction is pretty hard for a new player. I would choose Europe or US for them.

Rulebook, p16, section "Choose World Players" has a table that shows for 1 player World Power used = Any (see Reference card)

I think your original interpretation was correct, @Papa Boris.

Also I did a ctrl+F on the rules and did not find the word "faction". Why do you think the use of factions is how the game should be interpreted when factions is - seemingly - not used in the rule book?

p16 indicates solo should use any faction's player mat because there isn't a specific mat for solo, but there's still a specific faction (the solo faction).

SIlly how the rules clearly state that the players themselves choose the world power to play as, yet the game just randomly assigns them.
