No error message. I had two medium dogs in play. Hannah requires two dry bits. Only one cube was applied to her card, but it counted her as fed (incorrect). Also, I had Maple, who requires one dry bits food cube. One cube was correctly applied, but it showed her as unfed (incorrect).

I've watched the playback of your game and everything looks correct for me, who does not mean that you didn't have an error but it confirms that the error would be purely a display one (in other words, the good news is that the server knew exactly what was going on, including which dogs were or were not fed - but it's the way that was being represented/displayed to you that was incorrect).
Could I please get you to run some tests for me?
1. If you go to your game and watch a replay using Duck Duck Go and let me know: are you getting the same issues in the same places, or does it look fine in the replay?
2. If you ARE getting the same issues, could you please repeat this using the Chrome browser? Does it get the same issues in the same places, or does it look fine in the replay?
3. Finally, not a test but a question: this is a turn mode game, although you played in a fairly real-time fashion over a number of stretches, including (by the looks of things) the period where you were experiencing this issue. Do you recall if you were switching to other games and then coming back to this one, or if this game was the only one that BGA "sat on"? The question behind the question is: do you have any idea if this display issue existed after you switched out to another game and then came back (in which case the game redraws the board) or if you're only aware of it happening after you have played a number of turns (in which case it may be caused by an animation fault). If you don't know the answers to this, don't worry - it's just worth asking!

Your bug has probably been fixed already, or was linked to a temporary failure of BGA service.
In any case, when filling a bug report, make sure to have an explicit title linked to the incident (ex: with error message), so other players can recognize it and vote for it.
