My wife had Fara and 2 Squires with nobody in prison. She then placed a worker at the Black Market to trigger a Black Market Reset which then moved her worker into prison. According to the rules, Fara should be allowed to release the worker from prison and the 2 Squires would activate.
During the game, she was allowed to release the worker but the Squires did not activate. After this, we abandoned the game because Fara's ability was rendered useless.
On a side note, players should be given the opportunity to CHOOSE their asymmetric player board. We had to start and cancel several times to get characters we wanted. After all that, Fara didn't work correctly so we will stick with our physical copy until these adjustments are made. Thanks! -

The activation of Fera occurs, but after negative effects of BM rest when should be before.
I don't agree with choosing the people you use and like them being random.
This should be fixed.
Same thing happened to me during move #45 during BMR

Rules state on page 17:

Black Mark Reset: do things in this order
1. workers from black market to prison
2. flip over small market card
3. any relevant actions on apprentices (or characters presumably) are taken at this point
4. three plus workers lose you virtue
5. most in prison earns a debt card

The prisoners should've been released. Instead I got a debt and didn't get my squire bonus.
Another example here, just before this turn
I had 3 workers in prison, it released 2 of them then gave me a debt card, then it used the fara ability to release the other worker but it had already given me a debt card by then

By the way, I think choosing player boards doesn't make sense BUT there should be a draft or auction. Some combos are plain unbalanced, and some characters are not as fun for people.
