Towards the end of the game, I played the temple card that gives 4 points per temple built, but did not build a temple on the common board as they had all been built by then (and the endgame had been triggered). Anyway, at the end of the game I had three temple cards played on my tableau, including the card I mentioned above, but only two temples on the common board; however, I got 12 points from that temple card, I think I should only have got 8 for two temples built.

案件历史
I admit that the text on the English version of the card is potentially ambiguous. This has been much debated in several threads on BGG - unfortunately it never seems to have had an "official" answer from either the publisher or the designer, but reading one of those threads boardgamegeek.com/thread/1267438/purple-end-bonus-card-number-temples convinced me to implement this as 4VP per temple card played, not temple piece on the board.
The clinching argument for me is that the French text of the card - shown in that BGG thread and I can confirm that the French card assets I received from the publisher (via BGA) when starting development say the same - is:
"En fin de partie, gagnez 4 PV par carte temple placee au-dessus de votre plateau"
which although my French isn't the best, clearly translates to (this is straight from Google translate):
"At the end of the game, gain 4 VP per temple card placed above your board"
which is completely unambiguous.
(And remember the game was the designer and publishers are French speakers, so the French is the original the English is the translation.)
In short, this has been implemented this way deliberately, to agree with the French card and also with one of the 2 possible interpretations of the English card. It is not a bug.
