When I select a tile, I see the green checkmark and the red trash can symbol. I can select any of the monster cards, but I cannot do anything beyond that. The placement grid I saw when selecting the first monster does not appear now.

Never mind, we figured it out. I was able to select one monster (green checkmark) and select another one for deletion (red trash can) and then use the Validate Selection button at the top to finish the action. Not a bug, at least for me. The Validate Selection button was very hard to see though.
