Just noticed that this might be implimented to give the player time to use a location. Maybe consider changing the words to "You may raise a location or finish a goal" but again to not have one or both of them show up when it isn't possible would be great.

IMO the turn finalization text should be "Confirm your turn" if you are not able to complete a goal (also leaving availability to use mantas/locations to satisfy a goal) and "Complete a goal or end turn" when a goal is available for clarity on the game state instead of just highlighting a goal when it's available.

Maybe the developer did not want the game to make the active player aware of having achieved the requirements for a goal. Although, I think the circle with the goal icon gets a halo around it when the goal is achieved.

Also, I agree with landon13; the text at the top of the screen after completing the main action should also include something about exploiting a location or performing additional actions with mantas, or something like that.

I had already upvoted this suggestion, but, in the middle of my first turn-based game of Aquatica, now I see the major issue.

My opponent just completed a main action, and, being the second turn of the game, there is no goal to claim yet. There is also nothing to do using mantas or location depths. I would like to start my own turn, but I cannot, because the action has been sent back to my opponent to confirm "end turn".

So, what this game actually needs is a "pass in advance" button similar to the one in Terraforming Mars.

Oh, the reason I cannot simply take my own turn is my opponent played Meg, which requires an action from me, choosing a discard.

At least do not ask to complete a goal when you have already completed all 4 of them :D

I do not understand why the game says any of this at the top of the screen. Why not just, "FrankJones it is your turn" ?

In this game it is especially odd for the game to say, [player must play a character or complete a goal".
1) It should be "or claim a goal", not "complete a goal".
2) There are other actions possible, such as using Mantas or locations to perform "additional actions".

Either way; the active player can do additional actions and thus would need to confirm end of turn or do additional actions. SO, I'm not sure it is holding up the game.

The banner at the top should say, "You may perform additional actions or end turn".

There is no reason for it to say "You may claim a goal or end turn". We know we can claim a goal if we want to. But the phrasing omits one of the major actions people can take after resolving their main cation.

Here is what I would recommend:

At the start of a player's turn:

"You may play a character or perform additional actions".

After playing a character and resolving its effects:

"You may perform additional actions or end turn."

Being able to claim a goal is inherent in the rules, and does not need to be stated, especially since any available goals light up with a halo around the goal on the board.

Developer can’t do anything about it. It’s something between Publisher and BGA (release calendar)

Is there a way to find out more information about that? Someone I can contact? Would Ivan know?

Or is this entirely handled by Arcane Wonders / CosmoDrome Games / Dice Towers essentials? (Those are the three publishers I see named on the game box.)
