You can find the current move number by looking in the upper-left corner where the progression is indicated (in landscape for mobile users). You can also find the move number by clicking on the log and looking at the link that’s provided when it offers you the option to replay from that point. Wait... that's exactly how it's supposed to work. You either get the lower reward ($2) or the higher one ($2 + $2 & 2VP).
I'm not following what the problem is exactly. Maybe you could explain it a different way, provide some screenshots of what you're seeing, and explain what you would like to see instead?
The option to cash in my career goal said "Career Goal: $4" making it look like if I pushed that button, it would force me to use my $4 goal when I only wanted to use the $2 one. However, upon clicking the button it took me to a sub menu where I could select which of the two rewards I wanted. I was able to successfully select the $2 option.
