案件历史
I am not allowed to pick the discard pile. There are 14 cards in the pile and I can add the top card to one of our existing melds. This is a valid scenario to be able to pick up the discard pile as per the rules:
You must be able to meld the top card of the discard pile with 2+ cards in your hand (including at least one natural) OR one of your existing melds already on the table. If you can't make a meld, you cannot take the card.
OR one of your existing melds means you can add the top card to one of your existing melds.
Nowhere does it say you can't do that if you only have one card in hand.
Other sites with Canasta rules say the same thing:

When the discard pile is not frozen against their side, a player may take it: a) with a natural pair matching the top card as above; or b) by melding the top card with one matching natural card and one wild card from his hand; or c) by adding the top card to a meld they already have on the table.
rule c) would apply here
And, the source also says:
'A player with only one card left in their hand may not take the discard pile if there is only one card in it.'
