I attempted to reproduce from the game state at this point, but did not have any trouble using Mockingbird to repeat Killdeer.
You mentioned getting an error code when you clicked on the egg - did it matter which bird the egg was on? The server call doesn't happen until you decide where to draw the card from after clicking the egg. Were you trying to draw from the tray or the deck?
